The 2010 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship Season Celebration
This year’s AMA Motocross Banquet & Season Celebration was held in a magnificent banquet room at the Pala Resort & Casino. The room was decorated beautifully, lined with motocross décor, as well as a stage decorated with the championship bikes and awards. The line-up of food, appetizers, desserts, and beverages was very elegant and delicious.
After dinner, the awards ceremony began. Jason Weigandt, along with Tim Cotter hosted the show. And of course Jason started it just like he does many of his shows – after slamming down an energy drink.
Jason went on to talk about each round of this summer’s AMA Motocross Nationals, with a list of funny jokes pertaining to all the good and bad situations at each of the races. After that, the awards and trophies were handed out.
The night was filled with special memories, good times, and laughs. One poignant moment was when Kevin Windham accepted the award for ‘Sportsperson of the Year’. Kevin always has a great way of expressing himself, but made a great comment towards his friend & the team manager, Mike LaRocco. He commented on Mike’s motivation, that pushed Kevin to work hard and do his best … it was touching, but at the same time very funny.

First AFC North first-round pick signs
The Cincinnati Bengals have the most remaining unsigned draft picks in the division, but they became the first AFC North team to sign its first-round pick. The Bengals announced they have reached a deal with cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick, the 17th overall pick in the draft. He agreed to a four-year deal worth $8.6 million with $7.84 million of that fully guaranteed, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. Kirkpatrick’s signing is the earliest by a top Bengals draft pick since 2003, when Cincinnati sealed a deal on April 24 with quarterback Carson Palmer, the top overall selection in that draft.

Extreme dizziness defeats Sarah Hebert’s transatlantic cross
Sarah Hebert has suspended the Atlantic Ocean windsurf crossing, after her health quickly deteriorated in the last days. The French sailor has been suffering extreme dizziness and anemia and vowed to retry.
“The adventure is beautiful, hard but magical. I have no regrets. All I’ve lived before being on the ocean and during the feedthrough is incredible. This will forever burn in me. I will analyze all this once rested, but I already know that neither my preparation, or my equipment, nor the heart that I set to work can not be questioned”, explains Hebert.
“Sometimes you just accept its limitations, that of the body says stop, to avoid the worst. Although I limping along, I see only the best for now. I learned about myself, on the ocean and the open sea and the whole experience will be useful in the future to meet new challenges”, she added.
