Magic Mike Star Joe Manganiello Reveals Hardest Part of Movie
Joe Manganiello, as any True Blood fan knows, is no stranger to nudity. But starring in the stripper-themed Magic Mike came with an even bigger challenge than shedding his clothes: wearing a thong.
"I wore these little thongs that literally go up your butt, and it definitely takes getting used to," Manganiello, 35, told People at a boutique opening in New York.
The actor, who had never worn a thong before the Magic Mike shoot, explained his discomfort at the tiny strip he had to sport in the dance numbers.
"It was uncomfortable at first. It sort of felt like a wedgie," he said, "but once you get into the routine of wearing one, you know what to do and you just do your thing. We all had to suffer a bit for our craft."
Now that the massive, 6-foot-5 actor has experienced the revealing underwear first-hand, Manganiello has a newfound appreciation for what women go through for sex appeal.
"I have so much respect for all women who choose to wear them," he said, laughing. "It’s not easy wearing one."
Despite his barely there movie "uniform," Manganiello added that he didn’t feel self-conscious parading in a G-string in front of his costars Channing Tatum, Matthew McConaughey, Alex Pettyfer, and Matt Bomer.
"No, we all took our turn in the barrel," he said. "Being with the guys, nobody takes them self too seriously. Everybody was on set cheering, laughing and rolling on the ground."
The actor is a bit shy, however, when it comes to his family seeing him in the steamier scenes of the movie.
"I told my parents not to go see this," he said of the film, which hits theaters June 29. "Nothing can prepare them for what about they are going to see."

Filmstalker Films for April 2012
Oh dear, I totally missed the films for this month and there have been some good ones, but the good news is that the films that are worth seeing are still in cinemas so you can get out and see the ones you’ve missed, plus there’s still a couple of weeks to go before the month is over and that means there are still fourteen films to be released that are either worth seeing or worth staying as far away from as possible, which way is that number going to swing? What have you watched this month so far? See…Visit Filmstalker for the full story. Restricted feeds to protect content.

Man on Ground
Man on Ground is based on a true story, but it’s not something that is made much of until the end of the film when it reveals the rather shocking truth that the events actually did happen. The film is an independent production that is looking for a distribution deal. Written and directed by Akin Omotoso who is also an actor and producer the film stars recognisable talents such as Hakeem Kae-Kazim and Fana Mokoena as well as Fabian Adeoye and Bubu Mazibuko. The blurb suggests that this film could be an interesting thriller that holds strong on characters and…Visit Filmstalker for the full story. Restricted feeds to protect content.
